Introduction to Non-Profit Management
Topics include: basic nonprofit terminology; its economic impact on the
community; mission statements and planning; life inside a nonprofit;
role of the executive director; attracting and retaining volunteers;
meeting management; financial management; special events; public
relations strategy; finding the right nonprofit for you.
Creating Your Own Non-Profit
Topics include: basic nonprofit
terminology; creating a mission statement and member buy-in; setting up
your board of directors; Articles of Incorporation and bylaws; legal
matters; organizational planning; recruiting and motivating volunteers
and staff; developing budgets; strategic fundraising; marketing and
media relations; effective use of the internet; advocacy rules.
Advanced Grant Proposal Writing
Topics include: how to format your grant
proposal for different audiences; understand the reviewer's
expectations; how to spot the funder/project matches that result in a 90
percent or higher funding success rate; how to write accurate and
magnetizing copy; identifying partners; how to correctly prepare and
mail your proposal.
Marketing Your Non-Profit
Topics include: common marketing terminology;
setting marketing goals and objectives; understand targeting,
positioning and branding; conducting a marketing audit using the 6 P's;
internet marketing; PR, media outreach, and publicity; how to develop a
marketing plan; the promotion planning process.
