Course Objectives

Know the basics of purchasing and the purchasing
    environment in the private sector.

• Gain a better understanding of the various approaches,
    tools and strategies used in negotiation.

• Learn the basics of entrepreneurship.

• Understand the basics of marketing management and
    strategies used to develop a marketing plan.

• Increase awareness of the basics in the field of price and
    cost analysis from a purchasing and production
    perspective.

• Build a foundation for thinking about price and cost
    analysis in a strategic, integrated manner.

 

Prerequisites: There are no specific prerequisites for this course. However, basic computer skills, the ability to navigate the Internet, and an e-mail account are all required.


Who Should Enroll: This program is intended for anyone currently working in, or planning on working in, procurement management, supply management, a purchasing department, or any other area involved with procurement and/or supply.

Computer Requirements

This course is also compatible with the Windows Vista operating system. This course can be taken from either a Mac or a PC. You will need an Internet connection, an e-mail account, Windows Media Player (available as a free download), and Adobe Acrobat Reader (also available as a free download). It is recommended that you use the latest version of Internet Explorer in place of other web browsers.
