(formerly Radiology Exam Prep for Dental
Assistants)
All persons operating diagnostic x-ray equipment
in the state of Indiana must be certified by the Indiana State Board of
Health (ISDH).
For certification, each diagnostic x-ray machine operator must
1. Enroll in a state approved education program
(fulfilled by this course).
2. Obtain a provisional permit from the ISDH once admitted into the program.
3. Complete an approved education program (fulfilled by this course).
4. Complete clinical training with certificate of proficiency from an
appropriate licensed provider.
5. Pass the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) Radiology Health and
Safety Examination.
This course is approved by
the Indiana Department of Health as an educational program and fulfills the
education portion of
the license requirement. It includes weekly lectures, lab demonstrations and
testing. A mock certification exam is held during the tenth class session
followed by an individual
consultation to review your results at the last class meeting.
"It better equipped me for the State Board."

the clinical training required for certification.
Applications for a provisional radiology permit will be provided at the
first class. However, the student will be responsible for completing an
application and send it to the ISDH. Information regarding the new
certification policies and procedures can be found at
www.in.gov/isdh/regsvcs/radhealth/welcome.htm
Information about the DANB exam can be found at
