This policy applies to Service Maintenance employees at South
Bend.
A. Introduction
-
Appointed employees are eligible for terminal pay at their regular rate of pay for certain accrued benefits when separating employment from the university. Conditions for determining terminal pay are listed below.
B. Voluntary or involuntary separation
This policy applies whether or not the employee gives or receives a notice of separation.

Holidays falling on the next work day following the last scheduled
work day, and unused holidays which are still eligible for usage within
the specific time allowed (see the Holidays
policy).

Compensatory time off previously earned but not taken.

Unused Vacation: terminal pay is allowed when employed through the six-month anniversary date. Maximum terminal pay of accumulated vacation is based on the following table:

C. Terminal pay at time of death or for employees retiring with years of service required for terminal life insurance coverage

Holiday. Same as in Section B above.

Unused Vacation: Same as in Section B above.

Income protection accrual in excess of 152.0 hours is payable for PERF enrolled employees; 25% of pay for hours in excess of 152.0 through 312.0 hours, and 50% of pay for hours in excess of 312.0. Employees with vested rights in PERF and who are in positions covered under the IU Retirement Plan should refer to the personnel policies manual for Professional (PA) classified positions for explanation of applicable benefit.
