Building Use Policies |
| The Franklin D. Schurz Library and the Learning Resource
Center prepares and supports the members of the Indiana University
South Bend community in successfully meeting their teaching,
learning, and research goals, fosters intellectual discovery,
and encourages lifelong learning. You are not required to have a library card to use the Libraries’ resources. You must, however, have your library card to check out any materials, including Reserve items. Library materials may be renewed by phone, at 520-4440. Lost library cards may be replaced for $5.00 at the Circulation Desk. A complete listing of Circulation Policies is available at the Circulation Desk or at http://www.iusb.edu/~libg/services/borrowing.shtml Failure to return materials or pay for lost or damaged materials is a criminal offense and may result in the loss of library and university privileges. Personal Security
Public areas are available for the use of faculty, students, staff, and the general public. Group study rooms are located on the fourth and fifth floors of the library, and are available on a first come, first serve basis. Priority is given to groups of two or more people. The fourth floor is the designated quiet area; noise should be kept to a minimum in other areas. No food or tobacco products are allowed; drinks must be in covered containers. Posters and notices may be posted on the bulletin boards on each floor with approval from the Office of Student Life Programs. Arrangements must be made in advance for visiting groups, classes, or other special events. Please contact the Library Administrative Offices at 524-4404. Meeting rooms and faculty carrels are available by arrangement
with the Library Administrative Offices at 520-4404. |
