Study Areas

The Schurz Library offers many study areas including individual study desks, large tables, and even comfortable couches and chairs. In addition to the general seating areas, the following are available for study and/or meetings:

Faculty:
Faculty carrels are available to reserve on floors three through five. All reservations are handled through the Library's Administrative Office (L304). Reservations are handled on a first come - first serve basis for one semester at a time. All library materials in carrels must be checked out. Public:
Study rooms facing the river on the fourth and fifth floors of the Schurz Library are available for public use. Priority is given to groups of two to six. An individual may be asked to move if the room is needed for a group. Rooms are not reserved.

Conference Rooms:
Two meeting rooms are available to IU faculty and staff to reserve. Rooms hold eight to 14 individuals and are networked. Arrangements must be made through Instructional Media Services for special equipment needs such as computers, overhead equipment, etc. Telephone requests must be made through the Office of Information Technology.
