Poetry Jam Anthology |
O
The Poetry Jams and Slams (South Bend, IN, USA) will partner with the the Poetry Circle (Durban, South Africa), to produce an anthology of poems and stories. The anthology is tentatively entitled, "Calling Down the Thunder: Intricate Thoughts about Overcoming Racism and Sexism."O
The pieces to be included in the anthology will be from authors who come regularly to the monthly IUSB Poetry Jams read. Don't just drop off your poem and never come back to help us build a community of poets.O
The author must submit the piece in written form (all pieces must be original), as well as a brief biographical sketch or artist’s statement. Submit the poems to Randy Jones when the monthly SOCACT Poetry Jams resume. We need a facilitator for the Poetry Jams and an editor for the anthology.
O
The writings from the USA would come from poets in the Poetry Jams, the open mike venue for spoken word poets sponsored by the Social Action Project, Psychology Department, Indiana University South Bend.O
The writings from South Africa come from a group of spoken word artists and poets who come together every month at the BAT Cultural Center.
O
The author retains copyright of her or his artistic work; SOCACT retains copyright of the edited volume.
