Associate Professor Randy Isaacson featured in "Oncourse CL Faculty Showcase"

Over the next several weeks, we will be highlighting faculty from around IU who are making innovative use of Oncourse CL to enhance teaching and learning.  

This week’s update is the first in a series of “Oncourse CL Faculty Showcases”, and focuses on the work of Randy Isaacson, Associate Professor of Educational Psychology at the IUSB campus.  With the Oncourse Test and Survey tool and Student Response Systems (a/k/a clickers), Professor Isaacson – a founding member of FACET – pushes his students to “know what they know”, and reminds them to “think about their thinking”. You can learn more about Professor Isaacson’s work by reading “Making Thinking Relevant”, a short narrative of the pedagogical rationale and benefits of his approach.  A short video clip of Isaacson discussing his work can also be viewed here.   

Oncourse CL Updates

Improvements have recently been made to Oncourse CL - these include seeing a course site as the student sees it (student view), ability to re-order the menubar links (located in the black bar on the left), and many others. These, upcoming Oncourse CL Basics Training schedule, and links to wonderful Feature Demonstrations can be found on the UCET Oncourse CL page.


Featured Book in UCET Library

Remember that the UCET Library (Northside 240) has a multitude of books available for check-out by faculty. The featured book this month is Conquering the Content: A Step by Step Guide to Online Course Design by Robin M. Smith. Holdings may be found on the UCET Library page.

Intellectual Property Policy Update
