IU South Bend is constantly changing,
expanding, and transforming to meet the needs of students
throughout Michiana. Located on 80 acres along the St. Joseph
River, the IU South Bend campus is just minutes from downtown
South Bend. When it officially opened in the early 1960s,
the campus featured two buildings—Northside and Greenlawn
Halls. The first class of 30 students graduated in 1967. Today,
our friendly campus has grown to approximately 7,500 students
and 12 buildings and offers a wealth of choices, including
more than 100 undergraduate programs, 17 graduate degrees, over 70 student clubs and organizations, flexible
class times, and off-campus programs. Learn more about our
beautiful campus and facilities with this online tour.
