Three Year Action Plans for all of Academic Affairs:
This
meeting was called to devise a working plan that moves toward three year action
plans for each academic unit. After
lengthy discussion Academic Cabinet members agreed on the following overall
objectives for Academic Affairs:
1) Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and
research by providing adequate library and information technology resources to
support academic programs and research.
2) Evaluate and
expand academic programs to meet regional needs.
3) Increase the
number of tenure- track faculty.
By April 1, 2004, each academic unit agreed to develop
a three year action plan which takes into account the overall goals of Academic
Affairs. The plans of each unit will
include at least three objectives; strategies for achieving those objectives; a
time line; and an assessment plan.
2005-2007 IU South Bend Campus Bulletin:
Linda distributed a time line for working on the
2005-2007 IU South Bend Bulletin. Deans
and Directors are to alert their faculty and staff that we will begin to work
on the new bulletin this May 2004, with expected completion and distribution of
the bulletin to campus units by March 2005.
Associate Faculty Recognition Reception, March 19,
2004:
The Associate Faculty Recognition Reception is
scheduled for March 19 from 4:00-5:30 in the Alumni Room of the Administration
Building. Three associate faculty members
will receive merit status and one associate faculty member will receive
recognition for thirty-five years of service.
Associate faculty who have taught at IU South
Bend for five, ten, fifteen, twenty, and twenty-five years will also be recognized. Linda urged you and your colleagues to attend
the event.
