Lecturer in Graphic Design
The Visual Arts department of the Raclin School of the Arts,Indiana
University South Bend, seeks candidates for the position of Lecturer in Graphic
Design. Qualified candidates should be well versed in design theory and
practice, history, and criticism and have in-depth knowledge in one or more of
the following areas: page layout and prepress, Web design, color theory,
typography, and multimedia. Course load per semester is 4 courses (12 credits).
In addition to teaching, applicants will advise students and contribute to the
service needs of the department and the University. Indiana University South
Bend offers a BA degree in Fine Arts and BFA degrees in chosen concentrations.

Economics: One Tenure-track Assistant Professor position. The position requires a Ph.D. in economics. Candidates with a primary interest and experience in public finance, along with secondary interests in teaching health economics and managerial price theory in the MBA program, will be given preference. Indiana University South Bend (IUSB) invites applications for an Assistant Professor in a Special Education tenure-track position beginning in August of 2008.
Those applying must be prepared to teach classes in two or more of the following areas: mild disabilities, early childhood special education, severe and profound special education, special education instructional methodologies, intervention strategies, low incidence disabilities, research methods, or assessment. Relevant teaching experience in P-12 setting is required. Service within the university and community is expected. The successful candidate will be expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate (master’s) level, and supervise practica and/or student teaching. Salary and benefits are competitive based on experience. Teaching assignments are generally three courses per semester and a one-course reassignment per semester to engage in scholarly research with the expectation of publication within the field. The preferred candidate will have an earned terminal degree, although ABD candidates will be considered.
Knowledge and/or experience in working in diverse educational settings and the ability to use a variety of instructional methods and performance-based assessments matched to national and state standards are essential. Service within the university and community is expected. Three or more years experience teaching in a pre K-6 school is expected. Expertise in one of the following areas is preferred: Individuals with experience in low disabilities, severe and profound disabilities, or early intervention/early childhood special education

Criminal
Justice Department Chair
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Indiana University South Bend
invites applications for a senior hire as Chair of the new Department of
Criminal Justice within the college. The position is open to applicants with
credentials commensurate with those of an Associate Professor in CLAS at IU
South Bend. This position is responsible for all aspects of chairing the
Criminal Justice department, including program administration and growth,
teaching, research, student and faculty mentoring and service. The Department
of Criminal Justice is transitioning from a School of Public and Environmental
Affairs to the College in Fall 2008. The program currently emphasizes three
tracks--policing, courts, and corrections--and offers a BS and minor in criminal

closely related fields with expertise in our three areas of emphasis.

Assistant
Professor of English
The English Department at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for
a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Medieval Literature, with a specialization
in linguistics, to begin August 2008. Ph.D. or advanced ABD in Medieval
Literature required; demonstrated scholarly activity in the field and excellence

Assistant Professor
of Colonial American History
The History Department at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for

Assistant
Professor of Sociology
The Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Indiana University South Bend

begin Fall 2008. Primary research area is open. IU South Bend has a 3-3 teaching
load. The successful candidate will teach quantitative research methods,
statistics and possibly the Research Conference Practicum. She/he would also be

Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies
The Women’s Studies Program at Indiana University South Bend invites
applications for a tenure track assistant professor position in women’s studies,
beginning Fall 2008. This position requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field with
significant graduate training in women’s and/or gender studies (for example, a
MA, Ph.D., minor or certificate). Research interests should include women of
color, issues of race and ethnicity, and/or global feminisms. Teaching
responsibilities include introductory and core women’s studies courses, feminist
research methods, and courses related to the applicant’s areas of
specialization. Demonstrated competence in teaching interdisciplinary
women’s/gender studies courses preferred. The teaching load is three courses

Four tenure track positions and one clinical lecturer are available to teach in BSN tracks (BSN, RN-BSN, BSN as second degree) and newly established MSN program. Teaching responsibilities include both classroom and clinical instruction, and most likely will span both graduate and undergraduate levels.
