Indiana University South Bend applied for and received a grant through MACOG (The Michiana Area Council of Governments) to complete a multi-use pedestrian/bike trail on the campus.  The Trail is currently under construction through the Indiana Department of Transportation with participation from the University. 

The trail will start at the corner of Titan Street and Ironwood and will run along the river to the west to end at 1720 Lincoln Way.  Construction is scheduled to be completed in September 2009.


Indiana University South Bend has won 4 awards

The Dorms of Distinction Award from University Business Magazine - August 2008 for the Indiana University of South Bend River Crossing Campus Apartments.

From more than 2,500 nominated projects, Indiana University of South Bend River Crossing Campus
Apartments and Community Building (submitted by The Troyer Group, Inc.) has been selected as a
Green Building of America Award-winning project and will be featured in the upcoming special Real Estate & Construction Review-Midwest Green Success Stories edition.

The renovation work in the Administration Building that included the School of Business and Economics won two awards:

1. 2008 Michiana Area Construction Industry Advancement Award for Excellence in Construction. 

2. “Outstanding Design” award for interior design by the American School and University Magazine in its August 2009 issue of Educational Interiors Showcase (see attachment). 

 


Administration Building Renovation (2nd stage)

(Clearing out the furniture and built in files in the Administrative and Fiscal Affairs Office to get ready for the start of construction.)

The Administration Building on Mishawaka Avenue is undergoing a second round of renovations. The East and West wings on the second floor will be undergoing some much needed improvements to add space and to update the look of the building. Human Resources, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounting, Purchasing, Administrative and Fiscal Affairs, Academic Affairs, Public Affairs, Institutional Research, Affirmative Action, Communications, and the Chancellor's Office will all have nice new offices/work spaces. Construction is scheduled to be completed by March 2010.
