Summer School

Summer courses offer students the opportunity to take a class that did not fit into their previous schedule, lighten their upcoming fall and spring schedule, or graduate earlier. Start planning your summer schedule by reviewing our registration calendar and schedule of classes. To enroll for one or both of the summer terms, complete the steps listed below for your status:

Current Undergraduate Students
Returning Undergraduate Students (out more than one semester)
Beginning and Transfer Freshmen Students
Transfer Students (sophomore standing or higher)
Intercampus Transfer Students (temporary)
Intercampus Transfer Students (permanent)
New Guest Students
Returning Guest Students

Current Undergraduate Students

  1. Schedule an advising appointment with your academic advisor
  2. Register for classes through OneStart
  3. Pay your tuition
  4. Attend classes

Returning Undergraduate Students (out more than one semester)

  1. Schedule an advising appointment with your academic advisor
  2. Obtain an authorization to register for classes from your academic division
  3. If you do not have a OneStart account, create your OneStart account
  4. Register for classes through OneStart
  5. Pay your tuition
  6. Attend classes

Beginning and Transfer Freshmen Students

  1. Submit a completed application for admission to the Office of Admissions
  2. Apply for Financial Aid (if applicable)
  3. Be offered admission
  4. Create your OneStart account
  5. Complete all required placement exams
  6. Attend New Student Orientation
  7. Meet with your academic advisor and register for classes at New Student Orientation
  8. Pay your tuition
  9. Attend classes

Transfer Students (sophomore standing or higher)

  1. Submit a completed application for admission to the Office of Admissions
  2. Apply for Financial Aid (if applicable)
  3. Be offered admission
  4. Create your OneStart account
  5. Complete all applicable placement exams
  6. Schedule an advising appointment (refer to your admission packet)
  7. Register for classes through OneStart
  8. Attend New Student Orientation
  9. Pay your tuition
  10. Attend classes

Intercampus Transfer Students (temporary)

  1. Complete the online intercampus request form or personally visit the Office of the Registrar to request a temporary transfer
  2. Obtain an authorization to register for classes from the Office of the Registrar
  3. Coordinate your schedule through your academic advisor at your home campus
  4. Complete all required placement exams
  5. Register for classes through OneStart
  6. Pay your tuition
  7. Attend classes

Intercampus Transfer Students (permanent)

  1. Complete the online intercampus request form
  2. Schedule an advising appointment with your academic division
  3. Obtain an authorization to register for classes from your academic division
  4. Complete all required placement exams
  5. Register for classes through OneStart
  6. Pay your tuition
  7. Attend classes

  1. Submit a completed application for admission to the Office of Admissions
  2. Be offered admission
  3. Create your OneStart account (create an IU Student Account, not Guest Account)
  4. Complete all applicable placement exams
  5. Coordinate your schedule through your academic advisor at your home institution
  6. Register for classes through OneStart
  7. Pay your tuition
  8. Attend classes

  1. Submit an updated transcript or letter of good standing to the Office of Admissions
  2. Obtain an authorization to register for classes from the Office of Admissions
  3. Coordinate your schedule through your academic advisor at your home institution
  4. Complete all required placement exams

  6. Pay your tuition
  7. Attend classes
