Pre-medicine pre-professional program requirements
The requirements listed pertain to IUSB students planning to attend Indiana University School of Medicine although requirements for other schools should be similar. Either a B.A. or B.S. is expected for acceptance into medical school. Students may major in any subject, but the traditional majors are Biology and Chemistry. The minimum amount of college work required is three academic years (90 credit hours) in arts and sciences, excluding physical education and ROTC courses. Each student must take the MCAT which is given in the spring and fall of each year. Students are urged to take the MCAT in the spring of the year preceding application.
