Indiana University at South Bend does not grant a degree in veterinary medicine but you may complete all of your pre-veterinary requirements on the South Bend campus. This plan of study is specifically designed for those students who expect to apply for admission to the Purdue University Veterinary School, but requirements for other schools should be similar. Students are eligible for admission after completion of 70 credit hours which, include the following IUSB courses.

Biology

L101 Introduction to Biological Sci. I, lec/lab - 5 cr. hrs.  and L102 Introduction to Biological Sci. II, lec/lab - 5 cr. hrs.
L311 Genetics lecture- 3 cr. hrs. and L319 Genetics laboratory- 3 cr. hrs.

Chemistry

C105/C125 Principles of Chemistry I, lec/lab - 5 cr. hrs. and C106/C126 Principles of Chemistry II, lec/lab - 5 cr. hrs.
C341/343 Organic Chemistry I- lec/lab- 5 cr. hrs and C342\C344 Organic Chemistry II - lec/lab 5 cr. hrs.
C383 Biological Chemistry, lec- 3 cr. hrs.

Note: Before students can enter C105, he/she must meet the following pre-requisites: M115 Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry; OR M125 Pre Calculus Mathematics and M126 Trigonometric Functions; OR Level 3 on math placement exam and M126; OR Level 4 on math placement exam.

Math

M119 Brief Survey of Calculus I - 3 cr. hrs. and M120 Brief Survey of Calculus II - 3 cr. hrs. OR
M215 Analytic Geometry and Calculus I - 3 cr. hrs. and M216 Analytic Geometry and Calculus II - 3 cr. hrs.

Note: Before students can enter M119, he/she must place at level 3 on the math placement exam.
