In the year 2000 Indiana law will require 150 hours of college credit for a person to be eligible for the Certified Public Accountant exam. To meet this need, Indiana University is now offering a 30 graduate credit hour (10 courses) Master of Science in Accounting degree.
This program will better prepare individuals for a career as a professional accountant and to attain professional certification, not only as a CPA, but also as a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Data Processing Auditor (CDPA).
In addition to the normal university accreditation, IUSB is proud to be among the approximately twenty-four percent of colleges that offers degrees in business, that the AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business has accredited. This is recognition by an outside national organization of the quality of our academic programs.
Who will benefit from our degree program?
1. Individuals preparing to meet the 150 credit hour requirements of Indiana and other states for taking the CPA exam.
2. The professional accountant who desires a graduate degree.
3. Professionals who want to increase their expertise for future advancement
4. Individuals who want to gain a working knowledge of the accounting profession for a change in careers or for future entrepreneurial projects.
5. Individuals who want to meet the requirements for other professional certification programs such as Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Data Processing Auditor (CDPA).
