We offer a variety of programs and services to promote campus diversity.

The Office of Campus Diversity:

  • Maintains an office that is open and available to IU South Bend students, faculty, and staff as well as community members.
  • Provides information, resources, and diversity training for the campus community.
  • Organizes conferences and development seminars.
  • Convenes and supports a campus/community diversity committee.
  • Gives referrals to other IU South Bend offices on issues such as discrimination, health, employment, safety, and more.
  • Coordinates programs to promote campus dialogue on issues pertaining to the acceptance and celebration of diversity.

Specific services

Student Services

  • Provides diversity workshops
  • Supports the following student groups: Black Student Union, Latino Student Union, Native American Student Union, OUT/IUSB, STAAR (Students Together Able and Respected), Women's Student Union

Faculty Services

  • Provides guest lecturers and classroom workshops
  • Serves as a resource on diversity issues, problem-solving for diversity issues, and curriculum development

Staff Services

  • Serves as a resource on diversity issues
  • Provides department workshops

Campus/Community Services

  • Convenes and supports Diversity Committee, Hispanic Heritage Month Committee, and Asian Americans Heritage Committee
