We offer a variety of programs and services to promote campus diversity.
The Office of Campus Diversity:
- Maintains an office that is open and available to IU South Bend students, faculty, and staff as well as
community members.
- Provides information, resources, and diversity training for the campus community.
- Organizes conferences and development seminars.
- Convenes and supports a campus/community diversity committee.
- Gives referrals to other IU South Bend offices on issues such as discrimination, health, employment,
safety, and more.
- Coordinates programs to promote campus dialogue on issues pertaining to the acceptance and celebration
of diversity.
Specific services
Student Services
- Provides diversity workshops
- Supports the following student groups: Black Student Union, Latino Student Union, Native American
Student Union, OUT/IUSB, STAAR (Students Together Able and Respected), Women's Student Union
Faculty Services
- Provides guest lecturers and classroom workshops
- Serves as a resource on diversity issues, problem-solving for diversity issues, and curriculum
development
Staff Services
- Serves as a resource on diversity issues
- Provides department workshops
Campus/Community Services
- Convenes and supports Diversity Committee, Hispanic Heritage Month Committee, and Asian Americans
