Indiana University South Bend Summer Leadership Academy
The Leadership Academy (LA) is designed to provide a program to improve the academic success of African American and Hispanic students. The academy is an intensive, pre-college summer academic "leadership" experience. It incorporates the values of the Civil Rights Movement, Sean Covey's "Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens" and an intensive writing program. The academy provides the participants a wonderful historical and academic program in which to develop leadership skills and citizenship. It also earns either high school or college credit for the forty students enrolled. Indiana University South Bend provides the tuition and covers all expenses.
