Lester C. Lamon Scholarship

The Lester C. Lamon Scholarship recognizes Indiana University South Bend students who demonstrate an understanding of the values of personal responsibility and a commitment to community service through the Civil Rights Heritage Center. Undergraduate and graduate students may apply.

Recipients of the Lester C. Lamon Scholarship must agree to take an active volunteer role in the work of the Civil Rights Heritage Center in its mission to promote "a better understanding of individual responsibility, race relations, social change, and minority achievement" in the Michiana community. Each reward recipient must contact the Civil Rights Heritage Center at Indiana University South Bend to arrange an appropriate volunteer assignment. Successful participation as a student volunteer is determined primarily by periodic assessment by the director of the Civil Rights Heritage Center and successful completion of assignments.

Applications for the Lester C. Lamon Scholarship can be found in the Civil Rights Heritage Center in Weikamp Hall DW3120.
