Computers 101 - Summer 2007

If you have never used a
personal computer or if you have used one for specific tasks but never
learned
the basics, this class is where you should start.
CLASS FOCUS:
• Learn computer
terminology and concepts such as hardware, software, memory, RAM, byte,
hard drive, floppy disk, GHZ
• Use basic mouse techniques including click, right-click, scroll and
drag-and-drop
• Open, close, minimize, maximize and resize Windows
• A hands-on introduction to creating, saving and opening word
processing, spreadsheet and database files
• Learn to use basic Windows techniques and features
Notes: Class applies to all versions of
Windows. Inexperienced users must take this class to enroll in most
Level 1 Continuing Education computer classes. If you have taken a
similar class or presently use a personal computer, call 574/520-4261
for permission to skip the class. May be used as a Not-for-Profit
Leadership Certificate elective.
