Master Planning of Resources

Offered in cooperation with the Michiana Chapter of APICS.


Explore processes for developing sales and operations plans and identifying and evaluating internal and external demand and forecasting requirements.


Designed for mid-level production managers and those pursuing their CPIM certification, this course focuses on the importance of producing achievable master schedules that are consistent with business policies, objectives and resource constraints. Learn how to employ demand management, sales and operations planning, master scheduling and how to measure the business plan for optimal results.

Participant Guide for Master Planning of Resources $85 for APICS members, $125 for non-members.  Tests are administered by ASI, with the nearest test site in Schererville, Indiana. You will receive more information about test registration during class.

Inventory Record Accuracy

Measure and attain 95 percent accuracy in your inventory records.
Anyone who is responsible for inventory records and their accuracy–including those who work in the stockroom, warehouse, shipping and receiving, production and inventory control, distribution, data processing and auditing–should attend this intensive one-day workshop.
WORKSHOP FOCUS:
• Design and implement a program to measure, attain and maintain 95 percent accuracy
• Develop an ongoing cycle counting program
• Properly measure inventory record accuracy
• Learn Just-In-Time techniques, including point-of-use storage, backflushing and pre-deduct

IU South Bend Continuing Education in cooperation with the Michiana Chapter of APICS offers CPIM exam review based courses to prepare experienced production and inventory professionals for the five CPIM exams. APICS recommends candidates complete the courses in the following order:

 

 

1. Basics of Supply Chain Management
Explore the basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials in a supply chain.


2. Master Planning of Resources
Explore processes used to develop sales and operations plans, plus learn to identify and assess internal
and external demand and forecasting requirements.

3. Detailed Scheduling and Planning
Focus on the various techniques for material and capacity scheduling.


4. Execution and Control of Operations
Focus on the areas of prioritizing and sequencing work, executing work plans and
implementing controls, reporting activity results, and providing feedback on performance.

5. Strategic Management of Resources
Explore the relationship of existing and emerging processes and technologies to
manufacturing strategy and supply chain-related functions
