Is it for you?
ASQ says that certification is a formal recognition that an individual has demonstrated a proficiency within and a comprehension of a specified body of knowledge at a point in time. ASQ offers many certifications including: Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Manager, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Improvement Associate, among others.

It is peer recognition and not registration or licensure. Candidates must show that they have a specified level of education and/or experience, provide proof of professionalism, and pass a standardized examination.

How can IU South Bend help you become certified?
Cram Prep Courses
Students will meet face-to-face with an IU South Bend instructor who is an experienced certified quality professional for six Saturday mornings prior to the certification examination. This class will run dependent on the number of students interested. Smaller groups could easily move to Tutoring/Mentoring.

CQIA students meet for two Saturdays, May 13 and 20, just prior to the certification examination with an IU South Bend instructor who is an experienced certified quality professional.

Why become certified?
Quality competition is a fact of life and the need for a work force proficient in the principles and practices of quality control is a central concern of many companies.

Certification is a mark of excellence. It demonstrates that the certified individual has the knowledge to assure quality of products and services. Certification is an investment in your career and in the future of your employer
.

Tutoring/Mentoring

Students will meet face-to-face with an IU South Bend instructor who is an experienced, certified quality professional.

The student(s) and tutor/mentor will then establish a flexible study schedule, discuss recommended texts, and determine goals for the student to be ready to take the next ASQ certification examination.
