Perfect Gardens
Join us for a trip to the Meijer Gardens in
Grand Rapids, Michigan and learn how to photograph flowers and gardens.
The Frederik Meijer
Gardens & Sculpture Park is a year round botanic garden and sculpture park,
featuring indoor and outdoor gardens, nature trails and boardwalks, more
than 100 magnificent sculptures by renowned artists, special exhibitions and
more!
On the bus trip from South Bend to Grand

faculty/staff newspaper, will give a talk on photographing flowers and
gardens. Upon arrival at the park, our group will enjoy a guided walking
tour of the indoor gardens. Then, lunch in the Taste of the Gardens café.
After lunch, the group will take a tram tour of the outdoor gardens. Before
we return to South Bend you will have about 30 minutes to stroll the gardens

gardens get smaller, growing plants in small spaces has become more
popular. Even the smallest patio or porch can have a spot of color,
interesting textures, and fresh vegetables. Learn what types of
plants and plant combinations work well in containers; how often to
water; what works in shade, sun, and in-between and more. A wide
variety of containers can be used, limited only by the gardener’s
imagination.
Instructor: Greg Leyes,
experienced garden expert and instructor, Ginger Valley.
