Montessori Academy at Edison Lakes and IU South Bend Extended
Learning Services for the teaching of children ages 2 ½ - 6 in the
Montessori environment.
MTA is designed as a
one-year program which consists of a six-week full-time (8 hours a
day, 5 days a week) academic session conducted in the summer, three
weekend workshops of additional curriculum (October, February and
May) and a full school year of student teaching.
Certification
The next
certification program begins in June of 2007 and ends with the
school year in June of 2008.
Julie Gabrielse is the
MTA program director. She is a graduate of MTA, has taught at The Montessori
Academy at Edison Lakes for seven years, and has also been an instructor,
field consultant, and supervising teacher for MTA.
"We are just completing
our year long contract program in Fort Wayne, IN and are excited about
beginning this summer’s upcoming class of 2007-2008 in Mishawaka. I am
committed to the highest quality academic standards and to providing our
students the best all-encompassing Montessori curriculum."
