Southwestern
Michigan Saturday, May 19, 2007 Southwestern Michigan, along the east coast of Lake Michigan provides fertile ground for some of the best wine growing in the country. Wine growers and vintners create many award winning wines in this region .Join us on a bus trip to three wineries to see for yourself how wine is produced - from the field to the bottle; and, enjoy a taste of various wines. Our day will begin with a bus trip to the Round Barn Winery in Baroda for a wine tasting and if you wish, a visit to their historic, Amish-built, round barn. On the bus, our "Wine Appreciation 101" instructor, William Wilson, will talk about various wines and how to detect subtle differences in the different blends. Bill also hosts the podcast "Wine for Newbies." Leaving Baroda, we will travel to New Buffalo for lunch at Hannah’s Restaurant, a popular local favorite.
