We are eager to help plan your catered event. From an informal
morning coffee for five to an elegant evening banquet for 500, we
will work with you to fulfill your needs. We strive to provide you
with fine foods and excellent service at a reasonable cost.
The Dining Services staff consists of an Executive Chef and a
variety of service professionals with years of experience, that can
help tailor any event to meet and exceed your specifications.
When planning a catered event on the IU South Bend campus, your
first step is to contact the Director of Dining services or Events

The following information will give you a good idea of our menu
and services, but it is only a guide. You are not limited to these
choices. Our managers and staff are knowledgeable in food and service,
and we invite you to challenge us with new ideas.

Guarantee
A firm guarantee of the number of people attending the event must
be given to Dining Services three business days prior to the event.
Business days are Monday through Friday. Dining Services will set
up and prepare food for 5 percent more than the guaranteed number.
Billing
Charges will be for 100 percent of the guaranteed number or the
actual number served, whichever is higher. The organization or department
will be billed following the event.
China service
Full china service (plates, coffee cups and saucers, water
goblet, and silverware) is available for an additional charge.
Linen service
Linens will be used on food tables and for all banquet-style meals.
Tablecloths used for all non-food tables will be an additional $5.00
each. Linen napkin rental fees are $1.00 each. Table skirts are
available for $20.00 each, and are available in red or white.
Decorations/themes
Specific colors of linen napkins are available upon request. A
one week advance notice is required. Other decorations are available
depending on the type of event.
Food and beverage carry in/out policy
Food and beverages will not be allowed to be brought in for any
contracted catered event. In observance of food, health, and safety
regulations, groups are not permitted to take home food left from
buffets or served meals.
Indiana sales tax
All invoices and billings will be issued with the sales tax amount.
Cancellations
Notification of a catered event cancellation is required 48 hours
in advance. The sponsoring organization will incur all costs after
that time.
Menu substitutions
Menu substitutions can be accommodated but may incur an additional
charge.
Returns and pick-ups
In observance of health regulations we are not allowed to take
back and credit unused beverages and/or food items. All items left
at the time of clean up will be disposed of properly.
Extra labor charges
Events occurring after 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, weekends,
and are less than 25 attendees;
will incur extra labor charges, depending on these factors:
1) Amount of advance notice.
2) Time and day of event.
3) Size of event (charges will be waived for large events).

Box Lunch - $5.95 each
Includes cold meat sandwich, whole fresh fruit, chips, cookie, and
canned soda.
Executive Box Lunch - $7.95 each
Served in a professionally decorated gift bag and including your
choice of cold meat or vegetarian, large Kaiser bun, side salad,
fresh fruit, gourmet cookie, and bottled water or soda.
