Ilene ShefferSheffer has been Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs and University Advancement at IU South Bend since 2003.She previously was Vice President for Community Services and Development at Southwestern Michigan College in Dowagiac, Michigan from 1991-2003. Prior to the Vice Presidency, Ilene was Dean of Admissions.Her early career consisted of eight years of K-12 classroom teaching in New York, Pennsylvania and Michigan. Dr. Sheffer was a secondary school principal in Dowagiac Michigan as well as the community school director for both the Berrien Springs (Michigan) and Dowagiac Public Schools. She has a doctorate in educational leadership from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. Her undergraduate degree is from Hunter College in New York City and a master’s degree from Western Michigan. |
Dina HarrisHarris is the director of foundation relations at Indiana University South Bend. Harris is originally from Cleveland, Ohio, and has been in the area since 1979. She began her new position at IU South Bend on April 23,2007. Her previous position was development manager at Greencroft Retirement Communities, Goshen. She has been involved in non-profit work and fundraising for over 24 years.Harris has a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio State University, and a master’s degree in education from Boston University. She taught in the Elkhart area, and Parma and Berea, both in Ohio. She is presently president of Association of Fundraising Professionals – Michiana Chapter. |
Anne McGrawMcGraw began her tenure as the Director of Development at IU South Bend in July of 2007. A graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, IN, McGraw earned a BA in Fine Arts. Prior to joining the advancement team at IU South Bend, McGraw was the Director of Development at the Stanley Clark School in South Bend.

Marian ZuehlkeMarian Zuehlke has been the executive assistant for Dr. Ilene Sheffer since June, 2006. As well as this supportive role, Marian provides administrative support to the entire Public Affairs Division, including Development, Marketing and Communications, Dining, Special Events, and Alumni Affairs. Marian received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and is pursuing a Master's in English with Indiana University South Bend. |
Sara J. LoweLowe has been the Development secretary since July, 2008. Sara is a student at IU South Bend. She is pursuing a B.A. in history with a minor in African-American studies. Sara is a member of and former President of the Civil Rights Heritage Center.Her activities at the Center have included: writing and producing two skits performed during the conversations on Race Youth Summit at IU South Bend; assistance in planning and executing an Art Auction to raise funds for the Natatorium; planning and assisting leadership of the 2008 Freedom Summer class. |
