Educational Leadership

The Educational Leadership program is designed to reflect the themes of our conceptual framework and mission statement: competent, ethical, and reflective professionals who are prepared to serve all students in a rapidly changing world. The program was developed especially for those who desire licensure for a principalship in Indiana. The Indiana principal licensure is a PK-12 license and the IU South Bend cohort program addresses the knowledge, skills, and dispositions required of school leaders. The program utilizes extensive field experiences, authentic learning, and problem-solving as major ingredients for each course; resulting in candidates being well prepared for the rigorous state licensing exam. The program is organized into a two-year cohort which ensures a consistently small class size and promotes the development of close and support collegial bonds.
