Position at IU South Bend Assistant Professor of Spanish

 

 

  • Also educated at Weber State University (Utah), and the University of Madrid (Spain).
  • Specialized in Spanish American literature and culture of the 16th and 20th centuries, and comparative cultural studies.
  • Teaching and research interests include Early Modern and Twentieth century literature, colonial and postcolonial discourses, and critical theory. Articles on Spanish American literature in Revista de estudios hispánicos (Puerto Rico),   Espéculo (click to read article) and elsewhere.
  • Research in progress includes a critical study of current cross-cultural comparisons in Spanish Colonial Studies, an article on Spanish attitudes towards encounter/discovery after 1992, and a book on the origins of Latin American narrative.
