The Beginning College Survey of Student Engagement (BCSSE) is a survey administered to pre-freshmen at IU South Bend at orientation or in the first two weeks of classes. The BCSSE was pilot tested by the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) in 2005 and 2006 and offically launched in 2007 (BCSSE 2007 Institutions) .
