Partnering with library colleagues at Notre Dame, Valparaiso, St. Mary’s and Holy Cross College, librarians at Indiana University South Bend mentored three college-bound high school graduates for eight weeks over the summer of 2007. This project was funded by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to encourage minority students to consider librarianship as a career choice. The students were recruited from local high schools.
2007 IMLS Interns
During the IMLS Diversity Program, the interns worked in all departments of the library and worked on special projects. Each student was assigned a librarian mentor to work with during their experience. One of their individual projects was to create a personal website; links to these websites can be found below.
