Technical Services Department orders such items as books, serial
publications, videotapes, compact discs, media kits and subject content
software recommended for purchase by IUSB faculty or others. Each
department appoints a faculty member to act as liaison between the
department and the library. It is the responsibility of the liaison to
monitor the department allocation for library purchases and to approve
orders submitted to him/her by individual faculty members.
FACULTY SHOULD SUBMIT THEIR ORDERS TO THE DEPARTMENT LIAISON, NOT TO THE
LIBRARY. Faculty orders received in the library without a liaison
signature will be returned.
Others should contact the Head of Collection Development, Susan Thomas (suethoma@iusb.edu or
520-5500) or use our online form to make purchase suggestions .
Orders are processed in the order in which they are received. Allow
ample time for material to be received and cataloged. Some material,
particularly nonbook items, must be sent to Bloomington for cataloging;
this will add several weeks to the processing time.
IMPORTANT: If the
material is needed RUSH or is a limited time offer, faculty should note
the special requirements and have the liaison submit the request in a
separate envelope clearly marked RUSH, with a deadline date.
For more information, e-mail acquisitions assistant Elizabeth Bell at
ebell@iusb.edu or call 520-4443.
