If you are an adult who is thinking about returning to school, you may find that a general studies degree fits your needs. The associate and bachelor's degrees in general studies feature a variety of learning options including on-campus courses, off-campus courses at community locations, online and correspondence study, credit-by-examination, proficiency examinations, transfer credit, and credit for internships. In addition, some students may receive credit for college-level learning gained through life and professional experience or for military service.

In addition to a variety of opportunities to receive credit for previous academic work and life experience, general studies degrees allow you a great deal of flexibility in designing a curriculum according to your interests. You will also receive academic counseling and services especially for returning students.
