Students in health services management prepare for management positions in the health care field by taking a broad selection of courses in areas such as health systems administration, government finance and budgets, topics in public
health, human resource management, and health care marketing. This program is offered through the School of Public
and Environmental Affairs.
Special Opportunities
Health related experience or internships are important for this major. Students who are pursuing or have completed a three-year Associate of Science degree in the health professions may qualify for an accelerated 36 credit hour
professional track to earn the Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management. This requires special permission
from the program advisor.
Careers
Graduates with a bachelor's degree in health services management are prepared for management positions in many
health care settings, including hospitals, extended care facilities, and clinics, among others.
