How to Apply

Graduate Student

We're glad you're interested in pursuing your graduate education at IU South Bend. We offer graduate programs  in a variety of disciplines and professional studies, including Applied Math and Computer Science, Business,  Education, English, Liberal Studies, Music, and Public Affairs.  At IU South Bend, you'll discover an active and comfortable campus environment, flexible scheduling, and personal attention from faculty who care about you.

Our graduate application process is simple, straightforward, and convenient; and we can help you every step of the way.

Step 1: Review the admissions requirements.

Step 2: Complete the Application for Admission

--Perhaps the easiest way to apply is to complete our online application.  If you apply online, you will have to pay the $60 application fee (effective July 1, 2009) by credit card.
--Printing a copy of our International Application for Admission
--Picking up an application from the Office of International Student Services at 1700 Mishawaka Avenue in South Bend, or by contacting the Office of International Student Services.

To ensure timely processing, please take note of our priority dates. Missing these dates may delay your admission until the following semester. Applicants are periodically notified by email of their admission status. All required information should be received to guarantee the receipt of required immigration documents. The priority dates for each semester are:

Fall Semester June 1st
Spring Semester October 1st
Summer Sessions I/II April 1st

The nonrefundable application fee is USD $60 (effective July 1, 2009) . For the paper application you must submit a check, money order, bank draft or Western Union check (payable to Indiana University). Checks must be drawn on a U.S. bank (or a U.S. branch of a non-U.S. bank) in U.S. dollars. We cannot accept cash, international reply coupons, or euro checks.

Step 3: Submit Your Application, Credentials and Your Application Fee

Applicable official academic records (secondary school and college transcripts) should be sent to the Office of International Student Services directly from your secondary school or college.

Send your completed application, $60 application fee (effective July 1, 2009), and all required materials to:

We will inform you by e-mail when we receive any  part of your admission materials.
