Admissions Requirements
| -Fulfill minimum English Language Requirement -Minimum TOEFL score of 530 on the paper examination, 197 on the computer-based examination or 71 on the internet-based examination. In lieu of submitting a TOEFL score, we also accept an IELTS score of 5.6, completion of level 109 at The Language Company: South Bend or completion of Level 109 at ELS Language Centers or a score of 450 on the Critical Reasoning section of the SAT 1. -Immigrant Students currently residing in the South Bend area may take the IUSB Interim Placement Examination. Immigrant students includes students whose first language is not English: U.S. Citizen, Refugee, Asylee, Permanent Resident |
| -At least a 2.3 cumulative secondary school grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale, or a score of at least 520 on the General Educational Development (GED) test. |
| -Rank in upper half of secondary school class. |
| -Graduation from a U.S. or Canadian secondary school or comparable non-U.S.-style school. |
| -In general, we recommend that students complete college-preparatory course work that includes: -Eight semesters of English or the language of instruction -Six to eight semesters of mathematics. -Six semesters of social science (economics, government, history, psychology, or sociology) -Eight semesters of foreign language, fine arts, computer science, or technical skills. -Two semesters of health, physical education, or safety. |
| -The Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) (if you completed secondary school more than one year ago, the SAT requirement is waived. ***Please note, SAT score may be submitted during the first semester of study). |
