Many different types of immigration statuses are available for entry into the United States. IU South Bend and its Office of International Student Services issues documents that allow admitted and enrolled students to apply for a student entry visa at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

Because we are authorized by the U.S. government to enroll international students, we are also authorized to issue visa documents (such as the I-20 and the DS-2019) to international students and scholars. We must comply with all U.S. government regulations in doing so, and we are also obligated to inform all international students and scholars as to how they can comply with U.S. government regulations.

IU South Bend’s Office of International Student Services will advise and assist you in regard to U.S. government regulations. Our staff will provide you with information about U.S. government requirements and documents, and will assist you with U.S. Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Service paperwork when necessary. We ask that you follow the guidelines presented to ensure you maintain lawful status in the United States.
