  1. Candy wrappers and potato chip bags. Don't even think about trying to recycle these. They go in the trash.
  2. Plastic silverware, plates, cups. First, these items are not made of #1 or #2 plastic. Second, these items are contaminated with food. Do not place plastic cups, plastic bags, or other plastic materials in the bins. Custodians who find these items in the bins must discard the entire bag of plastic.
  3. Pizza boxes. The cardboard has been contaminated with food products and is not accepted by our waste contractor.
  4. Tissues and paper towels. These items are made of low-grade wood fibers that cannot be recycled again. Put these materials in the trash.
  5. Styrofoam. It is not possible to recycle Styrofoam at this time.
  6. Wax-coated paper. This cannot be recycled. Do not contaminate paper recycling with this material.
