Costumer and Lecturer in Theatre Jenny Fry has been a professional costumer working in theatre for 16 years. She has also been teaching costume construction in theatre since 2001. Her work has been seen in theatre, industrials, parades, children’s books, theme parks, and cruise line entertainment and she has also worked for a variety of independent clients.

Organizations and companies that Jenny has worked for have included Cincinnati Ohio’s Paramount Parks Productions (which produced costumes for King’s Island, Canada’s Wonderland, Carowinds, Great America, and Kings Dominion) Great Lakes Theatre Festival, the Cleveland Playhouse, Kent State University, Porthouse Theatre, University of Wisconsin-Platteville’s Heartland Festival, Hale Farm and Village, University of Notre Dame and theatre at IU South Bend.

Her skills in theatrical costuming range from being able to realize the designs for custom-made walk-about costumes, to interpreting and producing period costume for stage and period re-enactment. A skilled Cutter Draper, Jenny now manages the costume shop at Indiana University South Bend, and mentors undergraduate students in the craft of costuming in the laboratory of that shop. She also teaches Costume Design & Technology (a beginning costume construction class designed to train the student wishing to work as a costume designer, costumer, costume assistant, cutter, first hand, stitcher, craftsperson, or wardrobe technician), and Introduction to Theatre (a general education course open to all students).

She is the proud mom of Iris age 10 and Rex age 8, who get the best Halloween costumes on the block.
