Basketball Camp
Indiana University South Bend is hosting a basketball fundamentals camp this summer, conducted by Titans coach Steve Bruce. The purpose of the camp is to teach fundamentals and instill in campers the importance of learning at a young age the proper execution of what has been referred to as the “guts of basketball”. The camp is for boys and girls in grades K-6, and will be held July 21-24 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The cost is $40. Payment and enrollment information must be submitted before July 1. Jennifer VanderZanden named to 2007-08 NAIA Women's Basketball Honorable Mention All-American Team

South Bend, Ind.- Senior Jennifer VanderZanden was named to the 2007-08 NAIA Women's Basketball Honorable Mention All-American team. VanderZanden averaged 13.9 points and 7.4 rebounds this season, earning her first team All-CCAC Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) for the third straight year.

VanderZanden finishes her career at IU South Bend with 1455 points and 839 rebounds. She has become the all-time leading rebounder in the school's history. She is the second player to score over 1400 points and grab over 800 rebounds. The first was two-time All-American Emily Ladd ('05).

VanderZanden became the 12th All-American student-athlete in the history of IUSB.

Titans lose to Robert Morris in semifinals

Chicago, Ill.-The Titans (17-15) got off to a fast start behind the play of senior Dewey Brown. Brown finished the game with 23 points, but it wasn’t enough, as #9 Robert Morris defeated the Titans 94-74.

Ben Werner also scored 23 points, shooting 9 for 15 from the field. Tyler Leighton rounded out the double figure scoring by chipping in with 12 points.

The Titans shot 45 percent from the field and 26 percent from three-point range.

Titans win CCAC quarterfinal

South Bend, Ind.-Four players scored in double figures as the Titans advanced to the semifinal round of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) with an 88-86 victory over St. Francis Tuesday evening at the Student Activities Center.

Tyler Leighton led three 20-plus scorers with 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Ben Werner netted 22 points and 9 rebounds, while Terry Hill finished with 20. Dewey Brown scored 14 points off the bench.

Chris Hobson led the Saints with 25 points, while Barry Murdock and Rob Rabeneau scored 16 and 14 points, respectively.

The Titans move on to face Robert Morris College at RMC Thursday evening.
