Karly stated she and Jon Peters were working on forming an inter- association alliance with other associations on campus, beginning with the Political Science Club.
Habitat for Humanity. Circle K has advised that the Habitat for Humanity Representative will be on campus speaking at the next Circle K meeting next Thursday, the 20th. Anyone interested from the CJA is welcome to attend. For those who cannot, I will be there to get the pertinent details and will pass this info on to those interested so that we can begin to organize ourselves with this project as well. I have been told the weekends for this project are now in April and May (they are waiting for the weather to get better). I will email the time and room number of this meeting when it is confirmed, but it is my understanding it will be on the 20th.
Volunteer with AIM at the South Bend Juvenile Correctional Facility. As stated in previous meetings, the Dept of Corrections requires an orientation prior to volunteering at their facility. Theresa Brady, the facilitator of the local AIM program, has a tentative date for Friday, April 4th, with the time to be confirmed. This orientation will involve signing legal papers as well as a tour of the facility. I know some of you have already expressed interest in this volunteer project but please email me by this weekend to let me know if you will be able to attend an orientation on April 4th so I can forward this info on to Theresa. This will also let us know who to remain in contact with regarding future planning for this project.
Circle K Center for Homeless Drive. Circle K is sponsoring their Center for Homeless Drive. We helped them get the boxes (donated by North American Van Lines) but they have everything else under control. We can help by donating the items on the supply list taped to the boxes. They are hoping for art supplies, books and toys suitable for 3-6 year olds. There are two boxes in the first floor of the Wiekamp elevator lobby, one in SAC lounge, one in the SAC cafe, and I believe one near the door to the IUSB Child Development Center in the Admin building. So pick up some crayons or construction paper when you're at the store and drop them in the boxes! :)
Don't forget the IUSB Job Fair is next Friday, March 21st in the SAC from 10-3pm. Also, don't forget the tour of the St. Joe Co. Jail is scheduled for Friday March 28th at 9:00 am. Ana has asked we sign up for the tour in the SPEA office in 2210.
