Minutes of March 25, 2003 Meeting
![]()
As there were only three members present at today's meeting, very few items were discussed.
What is the status of:
Jon and I spoke with Dr. Proctor today reference the Cook Co. Jail trip and he asked us to ask the SGA since we were heading that way. There has been a set back. Due to the wording of the proposal in which the trip is only limited to Dr. Proctor's corrections class and CJA members, and not the entire student body of IUSB, we did not get approval for the money to pay for the bus. Dr. Proctor found the original document and has made the necessary changes. The proposal was resubmitted and we should know by next Friday whether or not we will receive funds for the bus.
Reminders:
Urgent:
The end of the semester is quickly approaching, and we need to hold elections for CJA officers. If you will be participating in the CJA next year, and you wish to run for an office, please notify me by Monday, March 31. So far Kevin Railing and myself are running for President. Which ever candidate does not get the position, he will be running against Jon Peters for VP. These are the only members that I know of who are interested in running for an office. I strongly urge Seniors to vote in this election as they have worked with each candidate and know who will perform better in each position. Also, in order for a majority of members to get together to vote, I am requesting each member's availability on Friday, April 4, Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6. This is in hopes that there can be a large voter turnout for the election. After the election, a meeting will follow, so as not to make a wasted trip for members. If anyone thinks that this meeting method will not work, and has other ideas for voting, please let me know ASAP, and I will let the rest of the association know of the idea and get their input.
I thank everyone for there time and understanding in this matter. I sincerely request that everyone replies so that the CJA can continue to move forward and continue to be a benefit to IUSB and the community.
Sincerely,
Brian Clark
Treasurer
