B.G.S. General Education Requirements

Blue Admission Track

Matriculated at IU South Bend summer 2005 or before
Admitted into the General Studies Degree Program July 26, 1997 through August 31, 2006

General Education Requirements

Students must complete one course with a grade of C (2.0) or higher in each of the following areas . Courses meeting general education requirements may also be used to fulfill distribution requirements.

I. FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS
Students must complete one course from each of the following six areas.

Writing I
ENG-W 131 Elementary Composition or
ENG-W 140 Honors Elementary Composition

Writing II
Approved course or course designated as "LAS Second Level Writing" in the Schedule of Classes

Oral Communication
SPCH-S121 Public Speaking

Quantitative Reasoning
Approved course or as designated in the Schedule of Classes

Computer Literacy
Approved course or as designated in the Schedule of Classes

World Culture
Approved course or as designated in the Schedule of Classes


II. GENERAL STUDIES
Students must complete each of the following courses.

Introduction to General Studies
EDUC-F 203 Must be completed either before admission or within the first 12 credits after admission to the General Studies Degree Program.

Senior Capstone Seminar
EDUC-F 401 Must be completed within the final semester prior to graduation.
