Where can I get help/tutoring for class?
The Writing Center (AI 124) and the Learning Center (AI 122)

What kind of help do they give?
Individual and group tutoring for writing and reading in the Writing Center (WC) and all other subjects in the Learning Center

What else do they do?

  1. LUNCH, LEARN, AND LAUGH; informal lunchtime (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.) study groups, workshops, and foreign language conversation groups
  2. Computer-based skills tutorial in math, touch typing, speed reading, spelling, and vocabulary expansion
  3. Videos on writing (WC)
  4. Faculty with specialties in developmental writing, math, reading, and study skills
  5. Adaptive equipment and technologies for students with disabilities and differences

Information is posted outside the Writing Center and the Learning Center.

When are they open?
Every day of the week
Monday-Wednesday 9:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m.
Thursday 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Friday-Saturday 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Sunday 12-8:00 p.m.

Go to or call the Learning Center.

Is tutoring available other places on campus?
Call the department for tutoring in

  1. Economics E103 and E104
  2. Math classes at 200 level and below at the Math Tutoring Center, NS310
  3. TI-83 Calculator use in graphing and matrices (information at NS301)
  4. Psychology at the Psych Lab, DW2108

How can I be a tutor?
For the Writing Center, e-mail Joanne Detlef or apply in person in room AI 114.
For the Learning Center, e-mail David Ogden or apply in person in room AI 123.
