When is the bookstore open?
Bookstore hours vary. Please check their page at http://www.iusb.edu/~sbinfo/bookstore.shtml. Holiday hours and sales are announced on the bulletin board.

Where is the bookstore located?
The bookstore is in Northside Hall 136. When entering Northside Hall from Northside Boulevard, go through the set of several glass doors and forward to the big marble wall. Turn left (west) and go forward to the drinking fountain wall. Turn right (north) and go forward to the cross hall. Turn left (west) and walk to the second hall that turns right (north). On your left (south) is a set of doors. Turn right (north) and go forward until you see elevators on your right (east). Take the elevator to the first floor. Go left (south) out of the elevator and the bookstore is ahead on your left (east). The entrance is between two sets of glass display windows.

When entering Northside Hall from the north parking lot [near the handicap parking spaces-the northeast entrance], go through the doors under the large overhang and forward to the first hall on the right (west). Turn down that hall and go forward to the windows. Turn left (south) and go forward past the elevators. The bookstore is ahead on your left (east). The entrance is between two sets of glass display windows.

How do I find out what books I need?
There are four ways to find out what books you need:

  1. Go to the IU South Bend Bookstore's Web site at http://iusb.bncollege.com/.
  2. Go to the bookstore. They have a list of books the professors submitted that they are requiring and/or suggesting for their classes.
  3. Look up your classes on Oncourse. If your professors are using Oncourse and they have posted their syllabus, there should be a list of books there.
  4. Wait until class starts and get the list of books from the professor.

When is book buy back?
Book buy back is ongoing.

Can I buy my books online?
Yes. Go to the IU South Bend Bookstore's Web site at http://iusb.bncollege.com/.

Can I charge my books to my bursar account?
Charging books to your account is not an option at this time.

How do I get a book voucher?
Due to Barnes & Noble becoming our new campus bookstore vendor, the Office of the Bursar no longer issues book vouchers to financial aid students. Financial aid is not processed until all documentation is received. Therefore, students should regularly review their "To Do" list on OneStart for notification from the financial aid office regarding additional documentation. For fastest receipt of any bursar refund, sign up for direct deposit through OneStart.

The bursar's office begins ordering fall refunds as soon as aid credits under the "Financial Aid" heading of your bursar account summary -- on or around August 20. If you are planning to use your excess financial aid to purchase books and supplies, be sure to set up direct deposit for your refund. On OneStart, look for the "Bursar & Financial Aid" heading, then click on "Sign Up for Direct Deposit". Follow the directions for "Bursar Refunds". Or click here. Direct deposit refunds normally take 2-3 business days to reach your bank account.

Can I buy books in Elkhart or Plymouth?
Elkhart: Textbooks for Elkhart classes are available for sale at the Elkhart Center Barnes & Noble bookstore two weeks prior to the beginning of the semester. Call (574) 520-4015 for bookstore hours.
Plymouth: IU South Bend Plymouth students may purchase textbooks at the bookstore on the South Bend campus or online at the bookstore’s Web site at http://iusb.bncollege.com/.

How do I know what books I need for correspondence courses?
