Financial Aid and Scholarships

Most forms of financial aid can be applied to overseas study programs administered or cosponsored by IU South Bend. Contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information and details.

We also offer several scholarship programs designed to offset the expense of overseas study.

  • Sergio Mendez Arceo Scholarships
    This scholarship is for IU South Bend's Mexico: Language, Culture, and Society program and is awarded to students of Mexican heritage. It pays 50 percent of the program fee.   • IU Office of Overseas Study Scholarships
    Several scholarships are available to IU South Bend students based on academic achievement and financial need. Contact the Office of Overseas Study Scholarship Applications  for more details and criteria. Application deadline depends on overseas study program.
  • Joseph L. and Julia B. Peyser Study Abroad Undergraduate Scholarships
    This scholarship encourages well-qualified students at IU South Bend to enrich their education by residence ,study, or research abroad. Study abroad proposals may be made for a period of or one academic year, one semester, or a summer session. Click here for the printable application or contact the Office of Student Scholarships for more information.
    Application deadline is March 1.

  • Short-term Overseas Study Scholarships
    The David Starr Jordan and the Gabrielle Robinson Scholarships are intended to encourage undergraduate and graduate students at IU South Bend to enhance their education through study abroad. Applicants may be majors in any academic field. Click here for the printable application.
    Application deadline is February 2.

  • Requirements: All study abroad programs require a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or special permission.
