Accessing Network Drives using Windows XP
If you are off-campus, on a tech-desk, or on the wireless network, you will need to establish a VPN connection before connecting to network drives.
Instructions for installing the VPN client can be found at http://www.iusb.edu/~sbit and following the link for phone, internet, and video connections.
It is strongly recommended to use Internet Explorer to minimize incompatibility issues.
Accessing local drives:
- Open Internet Explorer
- In the Address Bar
- for H: and student O: drives, type \\sb-inft-vault2.ads.iu.edu
- for W: and S: drives, type \\sb-inft-vault3.ads.iu.edu
- for faculty and staff O: drives, type \\sb-inft-vault3.ads.iu.edu
- You may need to prefix your username with ads.iu.edu to authenticate to these systems (Ex. ads.iu.edu\username )
- Locate you directory
- For department (H: or X: ) drive, double click the appropriate folder for your department.
- For Campus Shared data (W: ) double click the folder Shared
- For Student Shared data (S: ) double click the folder Stushared
- For Personal Data Folders (O: ) double click the folder Home, which will show you a list of all personal data folders, you will need to scroll down to your username and double click that folder.
Accessing M: drive:
