Web Publishing: Athos

Basic Information

  • URL Address: The URL for your website will be http://www.iusb.edu/~department where 'department' is the account name on 'athos'.
  • SFTP Address: If you plan to use SFTP to transfer your files to your website, use the server address of athos.iusb.edu. If you plan to publish to Athos from home or off campus, you must establish a VPN connection first.
  • 'www' Directory: All files that are to be displayed through www (athos) must be contained in a subdirectory called 'www' which should be located off of your root directory. For example, a departmental account may have a home root directory of /ip/mydep; therefore, their web files must be placed in /ip/mydep/www.

How to Publish to Athos

If you plan on using an SFTP application, make sure to use the hostname "athos.iusb.edu". If you plan to publish to Athos from home or off campus, you must establish a VPN connection first.
