Project LEAD

Project L«E«A«D (Leadership, Enrichment, Advancement, and Development) is designed to develop leadership skills within all aspects of the IU South Bend student population, not just those involved in clubs and organizations. Students are exposed to a variety of different viewpoints due in part to the cooperation and assistance between representatives from the Offices of Admissions and Student Scholarships, the Academic Learning Center, Alumni Association, and Peer Mentors.

A significant focus of the program is the concept of “Servant Leadership” by which a leader is expected to give back to the greater community. As such, student leaders are expected to participate in ways of giving back to IU South Bend, as well as the greater Michiana area. Project L«E«A«D participants are expected to serve as tour guides at specific Office of Admissions recruitment events and New Student Orientations, serve as hosts to IU South Bend special events, as well as one large-scale community service project within the Michiana area.
