Indiana University South Bend will be the site for a job fair, job training and small business summit on Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the Student Activities Center.
The event, which is the first of six job fairs scheduled across the state, is sponsored by U.S. Senator Evan Bayh. Locally, the fair is co-sponsored by IU South Bend, Workforce Investment Board and Job Works.
The doors will open at 9 a.m. and Bayh will speak at 9:30 a.m. More than 40 employers will have booths. The fair will close at noon.
Employers will be offering jobs. Local education and training institutions will present opportunities to strengthen skills. Small business resources will be available to discuss how to start a business or how to help a business to grow.
